Sunday 160 War

This week the Sunday 160 prompt from Monkey Man is 'War'

Tudor rose, an amalgamation of the red and white roses of Lancashire and Yorkshire.

The Wars of the Roses – red for Lancashire and white Yorkshire – resulted in the union of the two Plantagenet houses when Henry Tudor married Elizabeth of York.

  6. Great history and post. When we lived in Pennsylvania, we lived in York County and were adjacent to Lancaster County which used the white and red rose, respectively, as their emblems.

  8. We have a War of the Roses at our house. My husband is from Lancashire and I'm from Yorkshire. I did a drawing, quite a simple one of the two roses entwined.
