Wedding processionals

Wedding processionals

My youngest daughter is getting married next month and most days there is wedding talk of one sort or another with one or more of the family members. Yesterday Bethan sent me some video clips of wedding processionals, asking which I thought would be most appropriate.

Naturally, having watched the ones she sent I browsed a few more. I thought I’d share one or two with you.

The first one is remarkable for its length. The groom must have wondered if his bride would ever appear.

Dancing down the aisle seems to be popular and great fun but the man in this clip is not convinced of the wisdom of it. In fact he appears to be cringing at the whole spectacle.

Now I have to persuade Barry it would not be a good idea for him to emulate these performers . . .

  1. I attended a wedding where everyone thought the bride had skipped out. But eventually she walked down the aisle escorted by her father singing Daddy's Hands. Not a dry eye! I know your daughter's wedding will be joyous.

  2. Yikes, that one processional WAS long. WAAAY too long.

Good to check processionals out ahead of time so one does not make the same mistake.

Will you /she be putting your daughter's processional on You-tube for the world to view?

  3. Hi Janice .. I've seen a dancing processional and boy did they have fun .. not sure it would suit the English tradition .. but as the Queen said to PW and Kate - it's your day .. ?!

Long waits - not a good idea .. enjoy all the preparations and fun they're having .. cheers Hilary

  5. OMG ! as boring as was the first video (I would have taken a book along) as ridiculous was the second !
My son talked about marrying Marieken, but not in a church and only a small ceremony, maybe a little party. I hope for you that you don't have to dance with Barry into the church ! Please send me the video if that ever happens, lol !

  6. Both videos were entertaining in their own way - but neither of them my taste. :)) Thank goodness the littlest girl in the first video provided a bit of levity near the end.

I don't know what to say about dancing down the aisle. :)

  7. Oh dear! What else is there to say ;) I'll go for a relatively fast, sedate walk up the aisle. Mind you, I think my father was in such a hurry to walk me up the aisle, I had to grab his arm to slow him down!

  8. Oh dear, I'm sure your daughter's processional will be much better than those two!

  9. Whatever makes the bride and groom happy, I think. I think you would rather not get more awards? So, I will just tell you that I enjoy your blog and there is a "Lovely Blog Award" waiting for you on my web-site, but it's OK if you would rather not. www.castlepinesnorth.blogspot.com

  10. I have to say the dancing one made me smile and seemed to be the happiest wedding procession I've ever seen! I've got to show it to my daughter Christine, because I know she will love it. The first one was agonizing. I had to fast forward through parts of it. :) I'm sure your daughter's wedding will be lovely.

  12. The first one is way too slow and boring. The second one... well, I'd rather not be part of that spectacle. Hope you figure out what the perfect processional to suit your youngest daughter.
